Morocco. Smeia previews the new 7 Series and the X7

That’s called double hitting! Smeia recently unveiled a preview of two top-of-the-range vessels from the BMW fleet, namely the all-new 7 Series and, alongside it, the X7, which has been offered a refreshing cure to begin the second half of his career.

It must be said that for the last premium limousine from the propeller firm, the Kingdom was one of the few markets having the privilege of having it in order to present it to interested customers. And, icing on the cake, the machine is also available in a 100% electric version.

To say that the new BMW 7 Series fully plays the luxury card, distilling surprising comfort, benefiting from a high-end technological endowment and offering an unprecedented driving experience, is obvious. Because in this segment, we are talking about ultra-luxury for customers concerned about their well-being. It must also be said that the competition, in particular German in this niche, also has a response. Suddenly, the engineering staff of the Stuttgart firm has set the bar high with, as a bonus, an electric version called i7.

In detail, the front end of this new limousine gives pride of place to the brand’s latest stylistic codes, while introducing a visual differentiation that sets it apart from other models in the BMW range. A machine that relies on everything technological and that features exclusive equipment, in particular the “BMW Theater Screen” (available from production in March 2023), the BMW iDrive multi-sensory experience with its curved “BMW Curved Display”, or the maneuvering assistant, designed for fully automated parking.

As far as comfort on board is concerned, it must be assimilated to that offered in a five-star hotel. Need we point out that the machine will be offered exclusively in a long-wheelbase body variant, providing rear passengers with exceptional space and comfort. Not to mention that the passenger compartment distills a feeling of well-being coupled with an exclusive atmosphere thanks to its new high-quality materials, an innovative entertainment system and an extended offer called the “Executive Lounge”, available as an option.

This limousine is fitted with newly designed comfort seats as standard. They offer a more generous seat surface than on the previous generation, but also numerous electrical adjustments, a heating system and lumbar support for the driver and front passenger. The optional multifunction seats in the front and rear offer an active ventilation function with optimized cooling and a massage function that includes nine programs.

With the “Executive Lounge” options, passengers seated in the rear benefit from maximum seating comfort and an incomparable feeling of well-being. This offer notably includes a reclining function for the backrest as well as an integral footrest deployed behind the front passenger seat. In addition, the adjustment features have been optimized for increased comfort in the reclined position. The “Executive Lounge” package is available on the top trim level of the Maroc range.

As for the restyled X7, it retains BMW’s characteristic giant double bean and adopts new two-part optics, which are inspired by those of the recent 100% electric iX. The large premium SUV from the propeller-driven firm sees its interior progress with a dashboard welcoming a large digital panel with a 12.3-inch screen for the instrumentation and another 14.9-inch for the board computer.

The occupants of the machine benefit from high comfort thanks to its standard equipment which is even more generous than its predecessor. In addition to the four-zone automatic climate control, panoramic glass roof and hi-fi audio system, this premium SUV now comes as standard with comfort seats for driver and front passenger, a sport leather steering wheel with shift paddles reports and a new wireless charging cradle for compatible smartphones.

Various equipment is included in the Morocco range, in particular the Sky Lounge panoramic glass roof (with LED lighting) or the “Harman Kardon Surround Sound” audio system. The front seats can also be optionally fitted with the features active ventilation and massage.

The seats of the second and third row of Morocco finishes also benefit from the heating function, as does the steering wheel and the armrests of the driver and front passenger.

For the launch in Morocco, the BMW 7 Series will be offered in the i7 xDrive60 electric version and the 735i, 740i & 760i xDrive thermal versions. The 750e xDrive and M760e xDrive plug-in hybrid versions and the 740d xDrive Diesel version will be offered to Moroccan customers as soon as they start production in early 2023.

For the i7 xDrive60 electric version, it will be delivered with a 22kW AC charging station as well as two cables for public and domestic charging. Vehicles in the BMW i range are guaranteed for 2 years, while the battery guarantee is valid for 8 years.

Regarding the X7 in the Kingdom, it will soon be offered in two distinct engines: the BMW X7 40d, the BMW X7 40i. These engines will be available in two finishes: Pure Excellence & M Sport. The X7 M50i, meanwhile, will be offered in its Excellence finish to delight fans of the flagship of sportiness stamped BMW.
